The 'sesquicentennial' year of 2008 was only a beginning of the work of the Society of Friends of St. Ann's Academy ~~ Victoria, B.C.in preserving the legacy of St. Ann's Academy, and telling the stories of the courageous Sisters of St. Ann in their historical and modern mission work. More importantly, the influence of St. Ann's Academy must live on in generations who have not yet learned of the impact on the history of British Columbia of this educational institution, and the women who founded it. Your support of our projects will assist us in telling this wonderful story in years to come.

Your on-going support of the Society will assist us in carrying out our legacy projects. Please consider joining the Society at the nominal rate of $20.00 per year (see 'Becoming A Friend' page), or making a donation to be applied to the educational awards or site enhancements. You can also support us by purchasing a Rogers' Chocolates St. Ann's Academy collectible tin, as a portion of the price of each tin is dedicated to legacy projects.

Join us for two days of seminars, field trips and archival exhibits that bring to vivid life the stories of Roman Catholic missionaries during the period of Victoria’s colonial settlement. Organized by the University of Victorai, the focus is on two extraordinary legacies: the “bishop’s books,” a collection of 3500 rare editions from Renaissance-era Europe brought to Victoria during the 1870s and currently housed in the University of Victoria’s Special Collections; and the Sisters of St. Ann archives at the Royal British Columbia Museum. Come hear the President of the Friends, Sophie Oliveau-Moore, speak about the legacies of the Sisters of St. Ann's in Victoria BC.
